To participate, you need an up-to-date browser (e.g., Firefox or Chrome), a stable internet connection, and at least a microphone. A camera is recommended but not mandatory.

If possible, please use a headset to avoid feedback.

When entering the Nextcloud Talk room, you can enter a display name. Please always use your real name so that you can be clearly identified.

If you want to change your name after joining, you can do so in the participant settings of the Talk window (menu next to your name).

If you can no longer find the invitation link to Nextcloud Talk, please contact the event organizers (e.g., the office or a contact person at your institution). The link can be sent to you again.

First, check if your speaker is turned on and the volume is set high enough.

Check in your browser if access to the microphone and camera is allowed.

If you have problems, close the browser window and open the Talk link again. Switching browsers (e.g., from Edge to Chrome or Firefox) might also help.

If the connection is unstable, you can first disable video transmission to save bandwidth. Only keep your microphone on when you are speaking.

If possible, use a LAN connection instead of Wi-Fi or move closer to the router.
